The Ujeni Grants for Advancing Public Education is a special fund of the Community Foundation of Tompkins County. Created in May 2006 to enhance quality education; our mission is to contribute to the quality of student learning in area public schools.

The Fund promotes life-long learning, preparing students for the global workforce, innovation and creativity, literacy for elementary schools, and excellence in education. The goal is to give studens a wide variety of educational opportunities, such as real-world experiences; allowing students to make connections between learning and working in today's society.

To achieve this goal, the Fund is concentrating on creative instruction, enrichment, and career opportunities for students.

The Ujeni Fund is offering three types of grants: a teacher grant, a group grant, and a large project grant. The descriptions of these grants can be found under the "The Program" button, on the left side of the page.
